LCDDP has been actively involved in technical input, monitoring and evaluating a 5 years Inclusive Education (IE) Project funded by Community Fund (CF) United Kingdom. This multi-country project was funded to LCD-UK with Taamir Cheshire Community Program (TCCP) as implementing Partner at Faisalabad, Pakistan. TCCP is a partner organization of LCD-UK since 1996. In total 320 children with disabilities has been facilitated to get enrolled in mainstream education and a number of children and adults have been supported for physiotherapy and other health and rehabilitation services.
Inclusive Education has been a part of Disability Resource Center (D.R.C 2007-2009), developed at Manshera in response to the 2005 earthquake by LCDDP and CAMP. The project was implemented by Community Motivation and Appraisal Program (CAMP) funded by LCD. This was the first project of its kind in Pakistan, providing full range of services to persons with disabilities directly through project partners and strong referral mechanism of networking organization.
LCDDP also developed a Disability Resource Center at Islamabad in 2008 with Rawalpindi and Chakwal as its field area and carried out a number of initiatives to promote inclusive education in the target area of Chakwal. This DRC has been transformed into Livelihood Resource Center by 2009.
