n Economic Empowerment – the key for social inclusion of people with disabilities. LCDDP envisions a society in which people with disabilities can enjoy equal rights and have equal opportunities to fulfill their potential. LCDDP introduced and established first Livelihood Resource Center (LRC) in Islamabad in 2009 and later on LRC Sialkot in October 2012 with the support of Gold Star Surgical Private Limited. The Direct Aid Program (DAP) by Australian High Commission is a flexible, small grants scheme for development activities managed by Heads

of Australian Missions in approximately 45 countries. The emphasis of the program is on alleviating basic humanitarian hardships while at the same time advancing Australia’s international relations and public diplomacy objectives. n. Whereas, eighty percent (80%) of these people (with disabilities) live in developing countries and face a greater risk of livi

ng in poverty and exclusion. Worldwide, more than 46% people aged 60 years and over live with visible or invisible disabilities. More than 250 million older people experience moderate to severe disability. (WHO Report) As per census of Pakistan 2017, the total population of Pakistan is approximately 207 million (Bureau of Statistics). Unfortunately, the data about the prevalence of Disability was not collected, but according to the reports of the UN and WHO, the prevalence of disability is about 10%. Hence there are approximately; About 20 million people with disabilities in Pakistan About 10 million women with disabilities 60% of 20 million is youngsters and youth – below the age of 29 years 90% of the PWDs have NO Access to Income and Livelihood Opportunities Esti

including; Kohinoor Industries, British Council, HDF, Engro Fertilizers, Telenor, Muslim Aid, Winning Solution, ASK Development, Dollar Store, Hotel Margala, Access Retail, Bedari, SPO, PPAF, Access consumatrics Four Corners Group, Jugnu Wasim Studio and Australian Scholarship Awards, etc. set their stalls to screen and short list provide Internship, on job training, Job Opportunities and scholarship awards etc. “JOB FAIR 2018” will be helpful in opening new doors and avenues of opportunities to Persons with disabilities in leading employer organizations on equal opportunity basis. Mr. Asif Comboh (MD) Kohinoor Industries appreciated the efforts of PWDs in getting themselves in skills and trades to get inducted in Jobs in various departments of Kohnoor Industries. He also shared that Kohinoor Industries now offering internship courses for persons with disabilities and successfully candidates will be offered Job in the industry on non-discrimination basis. In his vote of thanks Mr. Sher Karim Program Officer LCDDP thank all the employer organization and their representatives from HR Team for active participation in the Job Fair.
